VP/Director Healthcare Origination

Job Function:

 This banker will be responsible for generating new business within the targeted prospect/client Healthcare market, will require good knowledge of commercial banking and investment banking products and solutions.   He/she will need to develop a good understanding of the Bank’s product areas, strengths, be able to originate business with prospects, and cross sell to existing clients.   The appropriate candidate will bring creativity to the task of pairing the client needs with the human and product resources of  the bank. The individual will be entrepreneurial, assertive, confident, self-directed, while also being a good fit with existing team members, and mature. As such, he/she will have the ability to gain the respect needed to interface effectively with all related product partners and team members. Furthermore, the individual’s presentation, communication skills, intellect and sales management style will be of key importance in the selection process for this hire.


The appropriate candidate will possess:


·         The commercial aptitude to support origination and cross selling efforts,

·         Existing experience in the Healthcare industry and existing quality contacts,

·         The capacity to establish or develop client relationships. The ability to assess client needs, opportunities, problems, requirements and work with both team members and products partners to produce creative solutions, especially in a capital efficient manner

·         The product and technical expertise necessary to gain the trust and confidence of clients, product specialists, team members, and senior management

·         A willingness to cross-fertilize with the different business lines and divisions of the Bank to identify cross sell opportunities worldwide, and solve client needs with solutions from the  Bank product areas

·         The capacity to leverage the tremendous and focused global resources of the Bank

·         The ability to develop and implement any changes in terms of strategy, current and prospective client lists and client service methodology required to improve performance and revenues

·         The ability to make a first level credit assessment of counter-party risks involved and pertinence of requests by the different business lines and divisions of the Bank




·         Team player mentality with an ability to originate business with clients/prospects, who is able to generate ideas and work with internal business lines and has an ability to source acceptable commercial and investment banking business

·         Comfortable in an intense, global banking environment

·         Has a strong sense (and desire) for innovating

·         Strong integrity




·         Wide knowledge of product set both across investment banking and commercial banking

·         Either strong credit skills or successful management of a corporate client portfolio in the United States, preferably in the investment grade Healthcare sector

·         Commercial skills and/or aptitudes


·         Experience in a US subsidiary of a foreign bank would be a plus




·         9   plus years of experience in the Bank and Broker/Dealer community




·         Bachelor’s degree or higher education level of experience from a major business university


·         Post graduate education or experience (i.e. MBA,CFA)




Required Registrations or Certifications:


·         Series 7 / 79 and 63 preferred
